After 5 hours of motoring from Porto Santo (no wind...), with the deep blue of the ocean as compensation, and a few groups of small dolphins as company, we anchor in the Bay of Abra for a couple of days (quiet, cliffs of impressive volcanic lava flow traces), before heading to the Marina of Quinta do Lorde. 5 years since our last visit, the marina has been improved with more space between pontoons, and the hotel and resort complex is now completed with beautiful landscaping, attracting a handful of clients inclined to spend a few days in a 'all in one' holiday resort. We spend a few relaxing days with bus trips to Funchal and Machico, dining and chatting with german yachties Birte and Wolfgang from SY Tanamera, and a re-trek of the Sao Lourenço route to stretch our legs a little.
